Hi there! This blog is a mix of everything I cover as a freelance writer: art and design, fashion, celebrity gossip, shopping, and travel. In addition to writing a shopping column for amNY for over a year, I've been published in the New York Daily News, the Houston Chronicle, New Jersey Monthly, and Time Out New York, as well as over 100+ articles for websites like More.com, SheKnows.com, YourTango.com, VenusZine.com and Yahoo! Shine, among others.

“You will love L.A. if you’re the kind of person who enjoys possessing no less than eleven Bed Bath & Beyond coupons at one time, believes that dogs should never be on a leash, craves an opportunity to wear a Hawaiian shirt, and is exceedingly patient with everything, everywhere, at all times.”
The part about the Bed Bath & Beyond coupons is especially true. I briefly worked for a woman in Silverlake, who hoarded them but never went to Bed Bath & Beyond. She got mad when I tried to throw the expired ones out.
My new favorite bar: the Tropicana at the Hollywood Roosevelt, especially now that it’s September and the tourists have gone home.
I was handed my first parking ticket this week; guess this officially makes me an Angeleno. Thankfully, it was only for $50. I’ve received worse.
Also, I will not be doing any more jaywalking around my neighborhood, after watching this Jerry Ferrara interview.

There are many wonderful things about living in New York, but the winter months are not one of them. It is totally essential to escape to somewhere warm during the wintertime to preserve your sanity, so I hopped a flight to the West Coast last week. I stayed at a cute bungalow six blocks from the Venice Beach boardwalk, dined al fresco, wore flip-flops, rode a bike around, and basically did all the things that people do when they don’t live in the urban tundra that is January in Manhattan.
We stayed here…

But I wouldn’t have minded staying here…(Some day!)

I get freaked out by just the idea of biking around Manhattan, but bike riding in Venice is literally a breeze. We rode down to the boardwalk every morning to eat at Figtree’s Café, my new favorite LA brunch spot.

Pelicans are so much cooler than pigeons. I spotted this little guy on the pier. (That’s a fish in his mouth!)
